Instructors and managers need to track the students' progress in a class.  The Gradebook shows each student's quiz and exam scores, the amount of material viewed, and when the student has been active in the course.  Instructors can sort the Gradebook by any column and can search for students that meet specific criteria; for example, all students that failed the final exam.
